Find my photos (selfie search)
How the selfie search works for guests, how to take a selfie that matches, and what "Scan again" does.
2 min
How it works
- The guest presses Find my photos (or it opens by itself after the PIN when browsing is off).
- Open camera takes a live selfie inside an oval guide. Upload a selfie instead lets them pick a photo of themselves from the phone, if the photographer allowed it.
- The selfie is compared with every face the photographer's upload was indexed for. Matching usually takes a second or two.
- The guest sees Found your photos with a count, then View my photos. The My photos tab now holds their pictures.
The selfie is used to search this gallery only. See the privacy policy and biometric consent.
Taking a selfie that matches
- Face the camera, in good light, no sunglasses or mask.
- Keep the whole face inside the oval. Do not tilt or look away.
- One person in the frame.
- For an uploaded photo: a clear, recent, front-facing photo works best. Group photos and heavily filtered pictures do not.
Scan again
Press Scan again in the header (or Retake selfie & try again on the result screen) to search with a new selfie. The previous results are replaced. Useful when the first selfie was blurry, or after the photographer uploads more photos.
Why some photos are missing
- The photo shows the guest from behind, far away or heavily covered.
- The photographer uploaded it only after the guest scanned. Scanning again picks up new uploads.
- Face indexing had not finished yet. Wait a minute and scan again.
