Create an event

An event is one gallery: one link, two PINs, its own photos, folders, settings and branding. Create one per wedding, per function (Haldi, Sangeet, Reception can also be folders inside one event) or per corporate shoot.

Steps

1. Open My Events in the sidebar and press Create Event.
2. Fill in Event Details:
   • Event Name: what guests will see at the top of the gallery, for example Ananya & Rohan Wedding.
   • Date: pick from the calendar. Shown on the gallery and used for sorting.
   • Event Type: Wedding, Pre-Wedding, Maternity, Birthday, Corporate or Other. The type picks the gallery's background theme (petals for weddings, confetti for birthdays, a clean grid for corporate).
   • Location: venue and city. Optional, shown under the event name.
3. Set the Gallery Link. VowPix suggests one from the name. Type your own: lowercase letters, numbers and dashes only, for example ananya-rohan. Wait for the green This link is available line before continuing. See Gallery link & publishing for the rules.
4. Add a Cover Photo (optional, JPG or PNG). It appears on the PIN screen and in the My Events list. You can change it later from Settings.
5. If you want photos to arrive from Dropbox automatically, switch on Dropbox Auto-Sync and pick the folder. See Auto-sync a folder. You can also do this later.
6. Press Create Event. You are taken back to My Events with the new card showing 0 photos and the guest PIN.

What is created for you

• A gallery at https://<your-link>.vowpix.in, kept unpublished until you switch it on.
• A Full Access PIN and a Guest Access PIN, shown on the event page and in the Share dialog. See Full-access vs guest PIN.
• Default guest settings: guests can browse all photos, the details form is on, selfie upload is allowed, originals and compressed downloads are allowed, guest uploads are off. Change any of these in Settings → Guest experience. See Guest experience settings.
