Step by step
These steps are for galleries delivered on VowPix, which many wedding and event photographers in India use. Other face-search galleries work in a similar way.
- Open the link or scan the QR. Use the link the photographer or the family sent you, or point your phone camera at the QR code on the standee or invite. The gallery opens in your browser. You do not need an app or an account.
- Enter the PIN if asked. Type the 4-digit PIN from the invite, poster or message and press Unlock gallery. If your link already contains the PIN, this step is skipped.
- Fill the check-in form if there is one. Some photographers ask for your name and mobile number before you search. Tick the consent box to continue.
- Take a selfie. Press Find my photos. The first time, a short privacy note explains how your selfie is used; tap I agree, continue. Then allow camera access, and keep your face inside the oval. The scan may ask you to turn your head slightly to each side.
- See your photos. After a second or two you will see "Found your photos" with a count. Open My photos to see every picture you appear in.
- Download. Tap a photo to open it full screen and download it, or use Select and Download all to save them together.
Tips for a selfie that finds everything
- Face the camera directly, in good light. Daylight near a window is ideal.
- Take off sunglasses and masks. Glasses you wore at the event are fine.
- Keep only your face in the frame.
- Do not use a beauty filter or a heavily edited photo.
- If you upload a photo instead of using the camera, choose a recent, clear, front-facing picture of you alone, not a group photo.
"No photos found": what to do
| What you see | Likely reason | What to try |
|---|---|---|
| No photos found | Blurry or dark selfie | Retake the selfie in better light, facing the camera |
| Only a few photos | The photographer has not uploaded everything yet | Come back later and press Scan again |
| Missing photos you know exist | Your face is turned away, far away or covered in those shots | Ask the photographer or the family for the full-access link |
| Incorrect PIN | The PIN was changed | Ask the photographer for the current PIN |
| Gallery not found | The gallery is not published yet, or the link changed | Check the link with whoever sent it |
| Camera does not open | The browser blocked the camera | Allow camera access in your browser settings, or use Upload a selfie instead if offered |
Original or compressed download?
If the gallery offers both, choose original for printing and keeping, and compressed for sharing quickly on WhatsApp or Instagram. Originals are the exact files the photographer delivered, so they are larger.
Is it safe to take the selfie?
On VowPix the selfie is used only to search that one event's gallery. It is not kept, it is never used to train AI models, and you can ask for your data to be deleted by writing to support@vowpix.in. You can read the full biometric consent policy from the footer of every gallery. The face scan is meant for people aged 18 or over, or with a parent's or guardian's consent.
Frequently asked questions
I lost the gallery link. How do I get my photos?
Ask the couple, the host or the photographer to send the link and PIN again. Galleries are private, so they cannot be found by searching the web.
Can I find photos of my children?
Yes. Parents can take their own selfie to find family photos, or open the gallery with the full-access link if the family shared it. The face scan itself is meant for people aged 18 and over; for anyone younger, a parent or guardian should agree and do the scan with them.
Can I find my photos after the wedding is over?
Yes, as long as the photographer keeps the gallery online. You can come back and press Scan again whenever new photos are added.
Why does the photographer ask for my name and number?
It is optional for the photographer to turn on. It helps them know who visited the gallery and lets them contact you about the photos or future bookings.
