VowPix vs Kwikpic for event photographers

Updated · By Chethan Vasthaw Tippani, Founder, VowPix · 5 min read

The short answer

Kwikpic and VowPix both let guests find their event photos with a selfie and a QR code, with no app needed. Kwikpic is the better fit if you want native guest apps, to sell downloads to guests, or annual plans counted by photos. VowPix is the better fit if you want monthly plans from ₹199, client album selection, guest check-in leads, a YouTube live stream on the same gallery, and original files up to 70 MB.

The quick answer

Both products solve the same core problem: a guest scans a QR code, takes a selfie and sees only the photos they are in. The differences are in what surrounds that.

  • Choose Kwikpic if you want native iOS and Android apps for your clients, want to sell high-resolution downloads to guests, import from many sources (Google Drive, Dropbox, OneDrive, YouTube), or prefer annual plans priced by photo count.
  • Choose VowPix if you want to start monthly from ₹199, let the couple pick album photos with a private PIN link, collect guest contact details through a check-in form, show a YouTube live stream on the same gallery link, and deliver original files up to 70 MB.

How plans are measuredStorage of original files, plus photo uploads and face scans per billing cycleNumber of photos
BillingMonthly or yearly (about 10% off), in rupees via RazorpayAnnual plans, with monthly options on some tiers

The two pricing models are hard to compare directly. Kwikpic counts photos, so its annual plans give a lot of photos per rupee if you shoot many events a year. VowPix counts storage of your original files and lets you pay month by month, which keeps the entry cost low for studios that are trying face search on a few events.

Where Kwikpic is the stronger choice

  • You want apps. Kwikpic offers native iOS and Android apps and desktop uploaders. Some clients and studios prefer an app.
  • You want to sell photos. Kwikpic lets you sell full-resolution downloads to guests. VowPix does not take payments from guests.
  • You import from many places. Google Drive, OneDrive and YouTube imports are built in on Kwikpic.
  • You shoot a very high volume. Annual plans measured in hundreds of thousands of photos suit studios that deliver many events every month.
  • Reviews. Kwikpic has been around longer and has a public base of reviews on software review sites.

Where VowPix is the stronger choice

  • Album selection is built in. Each person (bride, groom, parents, planner) gets their own link and PIN, hearts photos, and you download exactly those originals as a ZIP.
  • Leads from every event. An optional check-in form collects guests' names and numbers into your dashboard, exportable as CSV.
  • Live stream and photos on one link. Paste a YouTube live link and the stream plays on the same gallery and QR as the photos.
  • Low monthly entry. Start at ₹199 a month without committing to a year.
  • Large originals. Files up to 70 MB per photo are delivered exactly as uploaded.
  • Ready-to-print QR banner. The A4 banner with your logo, the event name and three steps downloads from the share dialog.

Frequently asked questions

Is VowPix a good Kwikpic alternative?

Yes, if your priorities are album selection, guest leads, a live stream on the gallery and monthly pricing. If you rely on native apps or selling downloads to guests, Kwikpic may suit you better.

Do both work without an app for guests?

Yes. Guests on both platforms can scan a QR code and take a selfie in the browser without installing anything.

Can I move from Kwikpic to VowPix?

There is no automatic migration. Download your originals and upload them to a VowPix event, or point VowPix at the Dropbox folder that holds them.

Which is cheaper?

It depends on volume. For a studio delivering a few events a month, VowPix's ₹199 monthly plan is a low starting point. For very high volumes, Kwikpic's annual photo-count plans can cost less per photo. Compare the tables above with your own event sizes.
