# Connect a Fujifilm camera

## X-T3 / X-T4 / X-S10 / GFX100S

*X-T3, X-T4, X-S10, GFX100S*

**1. Choose USB tether mode**

Open SET UP > CONNECTION SETTING > CONNECTION MODE and choose USB TETHER SHOOTING AUTO, not USB CARD READER.

**2. Stop charging from the phone**

Set USB POWER SUPPLY SETTING to OFF; Fujifilm warns ON can block data transfer. X-T3 has no such item.

**3. Turn off Bluetooth**

In Bluetooth/SMARTPHONE SETTING set Bluetooth ON/OFF to OFF so the camera cannot auto-upload shots to a paired phone.

**4. Turn off auto power off**

Set SET UP > POWER MANAGEMENT > AUTO POWER OFF to OFF; Fujifilm says it still applies while tethered.

**5. Plug the camera into the phone**

Insert a card with free space, switch the camera off, plug the USB-C cable straight into the phone, then switch on.

**6. Choose VowPix and tap OK**

If Android asks which app should open the camera, pick VowPix and tick Always (never Files or Gallery). Then tap OK to allow USB access.

> **Good to know:** USB CARD READER also connects (Android sees PTP), but the camera is in data-transfer mode and cannot shoot. Avoid USB TETHER SHOOTING FIXED: by default nothing is saved to the card. GFX100S lacks the PC AUTO SAVE and Bluetooth DEVICE LIST rows; the items you change are the same.

## X-T5 / X-S20

*X-T5, X-S20*

**1. Choose USB tether mode**

Open NETWORK/USB SETTING > CONNECTION MODE and choose USB TETHER SHOOTING AUTO, not USB CARD READER.

**2. Set USB to data only**

Set USB POWER SUPPLY/COMM SETTING to POWER SUPPLY OFF/COMM ON so data flows and the phone is not drained.

**3. Turn on airplane mode**

Set NETWORK/USB SETTING > AIRPLANE MODE to ON; it switches off the camera's wireless LAN and Bluetooth.

**4. Turn off auto power off**

Set SET UP > POWER MANAGEMENT > AUTO POWER OFF to OFF; Fujifilm notes it also applies while tethered.

**5. Plug the camera into the phone**

Insert a card with free space, switch the camera off, plug the USB-C cable straight into the phone, then switch on.

If Android asks which app should open the camera, pick VowPix and tick Always (never Files or Gallery). Then tap OK to allow USB access.

> **Good to know:** USB CARD READER also connects (Fujifilm: phone shows Connected to USB PTP), but it is for importing, not live shooting. Avoid USB TETHER SHOOTING FIXED: by default nothing is saved to the card. Never pick POWER SUPPLY ON/COMM OFF: it turns USB data transfer off.

## X-H2 / X-H2S / GFX100 II / GFX100S II

*X-H2, X-H2S, GFX100 II, GFX100S II*

**1. Pick the tether connection preset**

Open NETWORK/USB SETTING > SELECT CONNECTION SETTING and pick 3: USB TETHER SHOOTING AUTO.

Set USB POWER SUPPLY/COMM SETTING to POWER SUPPLY OFF/COMM ON so data flows and the phone is not drained.

> **Good to know:** These bodies have no CONNECTION MODE item; the mode is a numbered preset. 2: USB CARD READER also connects (Android shows USB PTP), but the camera cannot shoot. Avoid 4: USB TETHER SHOOTING FIXED: by default nothing is saved to the card.
